2009 The Garfield Show - Orange And Black

The Garfield Show is a CGI animated tv series based on the American comic strip, Garfield, that aired originally aired on France 3 (France) then re-aired on Cartoon Network (U.S. 2009–2012) and then moved to Boomerang (U.S. 2015–2016). The series was executive produced by Garfield creator, Jim Davis, and co-written and voice directed by Mark Evanier, who also wrote most of the episodes for the Garfield and Friends (1988-1994) series. Returning from Garfield and Friends are the voice actors Julie Payne (Liz) and Gregg Berger (Odie). Frank Welker replaces Lorenzo Music (due to his death in 2001) as the voice of Garfield, and Wally Wingert replaces Thom Huge (due to his retirement that same year) as the voice of Jon Arbuckle.

I loved the Garfield Halloween/Christmas specials and the Garfield and Friends series when I was a kid and though not as good, I still enjoyed watching this series. I'm guessing most people who grew up watching the original specials and series either haven't seen this Halloween episode or they hated the whole series because it's not the originals, but I liked it and that's why I'm posting it. This first aired November 3, 2009 on Cartoon Network. Garfield disguises himself as Catzilla, a deadly cat from the zoo for Halloween. The problem is that when the real Catzilla breaks down from the zoo, Garfield is mistaken for it and captured. It soon gets worse when the real Catzilla enters Jon's house, and Garfield has to break out from the zoo and rescue Jon and Odie.

  2. 3D animation is jarring. It is cute enough, though.
