1992 The Vault of Horror - Horror Bites

This video contains most of the Horror Bites segments from BBC2's The Vault of Horror, an all-night Halloween movie marathon that originally aired on October 31st 1992 starting at 11:00pm and lasting until 7:30am in the morning. The movie marathon was introduced and linked by horror host Dr. Walpurgis, played by Guy Henry and created by Kim Newman.

These segments aired in between the movies and featured interviews with horror film directors, writers and special fx-makers including Clive Barker, George Romero, Stephen King, James Herbert, Sean Cunningham, Wes Craven, Tom Savini, Shaun Hutson, Mary Lambert, Alan Jones, Lloyd Kaufman, and Charles Band. The horror movies and segments were shown in this order:

Tales from EC (1950s horror comics segment), Creepshow (1982 film), The Art of Illusion (special effects and make up segment), The Unholy Trinity (Freddy, Jason & Pinhead segment), The Curse of the Werewolf (1961 film), Prime Evil (The Evil Dead segment), Terror on the Page (horror authors segment), The Bride of Frankenstein (1935 film), The Horror of Sex (women's role in horror segment), Dario Argento's Friends (Trauma segment), Death Line (1972 film) and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948 film).

The other memorable event of that 1992 evening was the broadcast of the infamous Ghostwatch on BBC1 which I wrote about here back during 2015's Halloween Countdown. For the next three years Dr. Terror's Vault of Horror (1993-1995) was broadcast on Fridays on BBC1 and featured the return of Guy Henry's horror host character, though he was renamed Dr. Terror. The gentleman-demon introduced mostly classic horror movies.
