Halloween Spookies is a 2016 anthology of three family friendly tales that will give you the shivers, titled The Babysitter, The Messenger and The Familiars. Hosted by a duo of heinous hags full of Halloween spirit, played by Joni Durian and Haley Jay Madison. Not really a rare film but a Halloween treat for all ages. I love the animated intro and opening song.

2011 Halloweenville

Halloweenville is a documentary about the outrageous and unique celebration of Halloween in Lambertville, New Jersey, which is Mardi Gras-like in its scope. Originally released on VHS (limited to just 13 copies with reversible artwork) at 2017's TAPE OR TREAT VHS SWAP in South Philly presented by LUNCHMEAT. The event marked the first time it was available on any home video format.

The doc was written and directed by Paul Kaye and Gary P. Cohen, the latter of which horror fans may know as director of Video Violence, a 1987 American Independent horror film shot with a VHS camera similar to many rental films of the 1980s and early 90s. And thanks to Cohen himself, who uploaded it to his youtube account, you can check out the full doc below:

2009 The Garfield Show - Orange And Black

The Garfield Show is a CGI animated tv series based on the American comic strip, Garfield, that aired originally aired on France 3 (France) then re-aired on Cartoon Network (U.S. 2009–2012) and then moved to Boomerang (U.S. 2015–2016). The series was executive produced by Garfield creator, Jim Davis, and co-written and voice directed by Mark Evanier, who also wrote most of the episodes for the Garfield and Friends (1988-1994) series. Returning from Garfield and Friends are the voice actors Julie Payne (Liz) and Gregg Berger (Odie). Frank Welker replaces Lorenzo Music (due to his death in 2001) as the voice of Garfield, and Wally Wingert replaces Thom Huge (due to his retirement that same year) as the voice of Jon Arbuckle.

I loved the Garfield Halloween/Christmas specials and the Garfield and Friends series when I was a kid and though not as good, I still enjoyed watching this series. I'm guessing most people who grew up watching the original specials and series either haven't seen this Halloween episode or they hated the whole series because it's not the originals, but I liked it and that's why I'm posting it. This first aired November 3, 2009 on Cartoon Network. Garfield disguises himself as Catzilla, a deadly cat from the zoo for Halloween. The problem is that when the real Catzilla breaks down from the zoo, Garfield is mistaken for it and captured. It soon gets worse when the real Catzilla enters Jon's house, and Garfield has to break out from the zoo and rescue Jon and Odie.

2012 There's Something Following Me

There's Something Following Me is a horror film produced by HOH Productions, directed by Robert Wray & Sean Schwaller with screenplay by Robert Wray, Sean Schwaller, Scott Schwaller and starring Amanda Wells & Bonnie Johnson. The makers of this film ran a haunted house in northern Indiana for many years, and made the move to film a few years later. An obvious move for director, Robert Wray, a very humble and talented graduate of Columbia's film school. You're in for a treat!

"Cody Richards decides to walk home from school on the afternoon of Halloween. She had no idea that something would soon be following her every step, something intent on making this Halloween her last." A great scary film with awesome Halloween/Fall scenes. The filmmakers uploaded the full film on Youtube, or you can buy a VHS (which contains the feature, plus two additional shorts and an interview with the directors) at briarwood.storenvy.com. The playlist below contains 4 videos. May be too scary for kids:

2012 Mockingbird Lane

Mockingbird Lane is a 2012 TV special developed as a re-imagining of the 1960s CBS sitcom The Munsters. It was written and executive produced for NBC by Bryan Fuller as a one-hour drama with "spectacular visuals." It explored the origins of the Munster family and was darker and edgier, while retaining plenty of humor. The costumes and make-up for the characters were heavily toned down to have them more closely resemble humans. The cast included Jerry O'Connell as Herman Munster, Portia de Rossi as Lily Munster, Charity Wakefield as Marilyn Munster, Mason Cook as Eddie Munster and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa (Sam Dracula).

This pilot episode aired on October 26, 2012, as a Halloween special, with the option for a series order. Two months after the premiere, NBC officially passed on the series. I love this special so much it's great, and if it was picked up, I'm sure it would have been my favorite show. Here's the show summary from TV.com:

Herman Munster, the head of the family, is a patchwork creature who tries to keep his family safe and happy. His only problem is when he cares too much, causing his heart to break down. His wife Lily is a vampire, who tries to make sure that her son Eddie is happy. Eddie is a normal boy just discovering that he is growing hair on his body... during the full moon, when he becomes a werewolf. Marilyn, the nice of Herman and Lily, is the oddball out: a normal girl, although she shares her family's... "unique" sensibilities. Grandpa, a vampire of the old school, is still trying to come to terms with modern life where feeding on the locals isn't allowed. He keeps his son-in-law Herman's heart going, and tries to make sure that the other Munsters embrace their lives as creatures of the night.
